It is getting cool in these days...I actually felt cold last night. Last year I caught a cold 3 times, so please take care for everyone.
This semester, I am going to Fremont Adult School, taking ESL classes twice a week. The school is on N street and 24th Street.
Last year I went to City College. Do you know why I changed school?
If I want to go to City College, I have to pay 700$ for just 1 class. Text books are about 100$ So, it would cost 800$ for just 1 class! It is too expensive.
One of my English tutors Mrs. Julia, suggested to go to Fremont Adult School. She used to teach at Fremont School. Some people said “Fremont is low quality and no good” I went to Fremont to take a placement test at the end of August. It was a 3 hours test. So, I was really tired after taking it.
And now I go to Fremont School. Do you know how much the school tuition is? It is FREE. Do you know how much the text books are? It’s FREE.
Students just borrow books at the beginning of each class, and return the books at the end of each class.
I know you might have a question. “Who then pays for my school tuition and books fee?”
I asked my Fremont teacher about it. She said “the government pays! We count student attendance and report to government. And then the government pays a salary to the teachers. So, if students sign up for class but they don’t attend classes, the teacher can not get funds from the government”
The class is from6pm-9pm so it is 3 hours.
I feel my class is nice and small… only 14 students and they are all friendly, kind and really want to learn. I think my choice was right to go to the Fremont school.
It is important to listen to people’s advice.
But, it is most important to decide for yourself what is best.
