Good morning everyone.
Did you see the KINGS game on Friday night? It was a very exciting game. Someone might see me on TV! My seat wascnext to the court!
When Mike Bibby passed his ball to Peija. I tried to escape from the Ball!
I was enjoyed the game very much.
Last month, I caught a cold that lasted until last week. When I feel cold, I may not have a cold. But when I feel hot, I am more likely to catch a cold.
I heard that most people will sweat every night up to 6 or 8 oz of water. It varies with each person. But, when I feel hot, I may sweat more during the night. Then I catch a cold.
In January, Mr. Steve Hiromoto asked me to join in his dharma school class project to make Japanese Masks. In Japanese, these masks are called NO-MEN. So, I joined Mr. Steve Hiromotofs 6th grade class and I tried to make Japanese NO-MEN mask. Finally, I finished the project. Here it is. I am not very good at painting.
But Kristi Chow finished my mask up and made it be better.
Is she here? Thank you, Kristi.
At the end of this month, I will go back to Japan to renew my Japanese driverfs license and meet my parents. They are still young, so I do not worry about their health. And most importantly I must bring my education transcript from my college. After nine-eleven (9-11), it is difficult for BCA ministers to get a green card. Rev. Yoshii who was at the Fresno Betsuin and Rev. Furumoto who was at the Arizona Buddhist temple, could not get a green card and both are now in Japan. They both had some trouble applying for the green card.
Anyway I am going to be a pioneer and try to get a green card. When I apply for the green card, I have to explain that I am needed by many people in the United Statesc maybe ok? cAnd so I have to show that I am officially ordained. That is why I need my college information. I really hope I can stay in this country. Because of this trip, I will not be here on Sunday March 27th.
Today, I will talk about a Buddhist study class.
Last week, I started a Buddhist study class. This study class is now in its 2nd semester. The 1st semester was from last October to the end of January.
Do you know why I started the study class?
Since I graduated from Ryukoku University, I have had no opportunities to use my knowledge of Buddhism. So, when I sometimes tried to use my knowledge, it would not come out!
I began to worry about getting forgetful. We know our brain can easily forget if we do not use what we know.
I realize my memory skills are not very good.
I started to self-study in 2004. But, it was difficult for me to continue studyingcjust for me. Then some of our member wanted to know more about Buddhism.
That is when a good idea flashed across my mind. I thought if I study to teach our members, I will try studying even harder.
That is why I started the Buddhist study class. It is for my study and for those who come.
I have an English class and a Japanese class every Monday morning. The English class is especially good English practice for me. It is great. I teach Buddhist history to the study class members. And the members teach me English. I may have to pay English tuition to them!
Our founder, Shinran-Shonin always said and also wrote in his Gyoshosoku letters gsharing the Dharma is good for spreading the Dharma.h
Studying and reading about Buddhism is one of the ways to listen to the Dharma...with our eyes.
When we come to Sunday services and lecture we can hear the Dharma with our ears.
But we must also live the Dharma with our lives.
So, when we listen to the Dharma, let us also try to share the Dharma and live the Dharma, too. This is the Buddhist way.
