Good morning everyone!
Last Sunday, after the Dharma school service, Rev. Bob asked me “Rev. Kaz, are you and Michi free on Tuesday night?” I said “if there are no church activities for me, we will have no schedule.”
Then, Rev. Bob smiled and said “we have 4 Kings Tickets. Shall we go to the Kings game on Tuesday night? These tickets were given to us from Mrs. Marcia Matsuda” And I answered “Oh, yes. Michi and I want to go to the Arco Arena”. Then, Rev. Bob showed me the tickets and said “This is a special ticket. The seat is at court side!” I was very surprised to see the Ticket.
On Tuesday night, before the game Rev. Bob and Sensei Patti invited us to dinner. We went to the Memphis BBQ on Richard Blvd. Sensei Patti said “Rev. Kaz, I know you like potatoes. I recommend that you order a Giant baked potato. It is delicious.” I answered “Giant baked potato? It sounds good to me. Ok, I will try it”
Most of you know I love potatoes. So, I ordered the giant baked potato as my appetizer and also I ordered mashed potato as my side order to the rib dinner.
About 5 minutes later, a waiter started serving the food. When the waiter served the Giant baked potato to me, I said “woo, this is a big potato…” I drew the actual size of the potato. Look at this. It was about 1 pound of potato. Then Rev. Bob said “I ordered French fries. But I can not eat it all. So, I will give it to you” So, I ate 3 kinds of potato. There was the Giant baked potato, Mashed potatoes and French fries… Although we went to a BBQ ribs restaurant I had mostly potatoes for my dinner.
When we drove to Arco Arena, I - 5 traffic was not bad.
There were already many people at Arco Arena. We were 2 minutes late. The game already started. Michi and I walked down the aisle to the court side. Then, Michi said “I cannot believe it… I cannot believe it…”
Finally, we reached the court side seats. It was so close to see the Kings players…it was so close! Michi screamed “Mike Bibby…my Bibby!”
When the Kings had to take the ball out, Peja walked close to me and said “Excuse me” and he threw the ball onto the court. I felt “oh… he is a nice gentle man” He stood about 25 inches from our seats.
